Re-entry Permission
When a foreign national leaves Japan must return the
Resident Card at the immigration control and the status of residence
become invalid.
In case of temprary leave such as business trip, vacation etc., in
order to keep the status of residence valid, residents should obtain
Re-entry Permission in advance by appearing at a regional immigration
bureau. Maximum period of Re-entry Permission shall not exceed 5 years
or when the status of residence expires, which comes first.
Be Exempted from Regional Immigration Bureaus!
When you apply for a Re-entry Permission through our office, may be exempted from appearing at a regional immigration bureau. We collect required documents, apply at a regional immigration bureau, receive the Re-entry Permit on behalf of you. You no longer concern about your status of residence.

Special Re-entry Permission (Minashi-Sainyukoku-Kyoka)
Foreign nationals in possession of a valid passport and resident card who will re-enter Japan within 1 year from the departure or the expiry date of the status of residence, which comes first, will not be required to apply for Re-entry Permission.
